Image Metadata Viewer

View EXIF metadata — camera, date, GPS — hidden inside a photo.

Image Metadata Viewer shows the hidden EXIF information inside a photo, such as the camera, the date and, if the photo was tagged, the location. It helps you check what a picture reveals before you share it.

Upload a photo and you receive a report of the metadata it contains. Not every picture has metadata, and screenshots or edited images often have little. The upload limit is 20 MB.

How to use Image Metadata Viewer

  1. Click the upload field and choose your photo (up to 20 MB).
  2. Press Generate and wait a moment.
  3. Download or read the report.
  4. Look for items such as the camera model, date and GPS location.

Tips for better results

  • Check photos taken with your phone before you post them publicly.
  • If the report shows location data you do not want to share, clean the photo before posting.
  • Read our guide to image metadata to learn what each part means.
