Image Resizer

Resize images to any width and height online, free.

Image Resizer changes the width and height of your photos and graphics to the exact pixel size you need. It is useful for web banners, product photos, profile pictures, and any form that asks for specific dimensions.

Enter a width, a height, or both. With only one value, the other side is calculated automatically so the picture keeps its proportions. When you enter both, choose how to fit: keep the aspect ratio inside the box, stretch to the exact size, or fill the box and crop the overflow so nothing looks squashed. The format of your file stays the same, and sizes up to 10,000 pixels per side are supported.

How to use Image Resizer

  1. Upload one or more images (up to 20 MB each).
  2. Type a width, a height, or both in pixels.
  3. Choose a resize mode: Fit, Exact size, or Fill and crop.
  4. Press Generate, then download your resized image, or the ZIP file if you uploaded several.

Tips for better results

  • Making an image smaller keeps it sharp. Making it much larger cannot add detail that was never captured, so enlarged pictures look soft.
  • For a fixed shape such as a square thumbnail, use Fill and crop so the subject is not stretched.
  • For web use, resize first and then run the result through the Image Compressor for the smallest file.

Frequently asked questions

How do I keep the original proportions?

Fill in only the width or only the height, or leave the mode on Fit. The tool then scales the other side to match.

What is the difference between Exact size and Fill and crop?

Exact size forces your picture into the box and can distort it. Fill and crop scales it to cover the box and trims the extra edges from the center, so the picture keeps its natural shape.

Can I resize by percentage instead?

Yes. Use the Resize by Percentage tool on this site to make an image 50 percent smaller or 200 percent larger.

You can select multiple files.
